Experimental documentary film Silhouettes & Shadows is a fantastic, close-up, fly-through journey over meticulously painted, heavy media surfaces of the paintings of renowned artist Andrew Lakey. In this magical, and stunningly visceral experience of paintings that play more like roller coasters, jigsaw puzzles and wormholes in the universe – beautiful artwork is revealed a manner that may cause some controversy. Silhouettes & Shadows is a poetic documentary of an artist and his work in mixed media show – blending video, film and 2D animation with a provocative narration and a hauntingly beautiful, ambient sound score.
