Experimental documentary film Silhouettes & Shadows is a close-up, fly-through journey over the meticulously painted, heavy media surfaces of the paintings of artist Andrew Lakey. In this visceral experience of paintings, that play more like roller coasters, jigsaw puzzles and wormholes in the universe – the artwork is revealed from a new angle. Silhouettes & Shadows is a poetic reveal on this body of work, blending video, film and 2D animation with a provocative narration and a haunting, ambient sound score.
